Role Description
We are looking for an energetic and communicative Product Owner who will take ownership of digital product delivery and grow into a broader delivery leadership role through structured Project Management training.
This is a hybrid position: primarily focused on Product Ownership—defining vision, shaping roadmaps, managing backlogs, and collaborating with clients—while progressively gaining skills in project management, including budgeting, scope management, and delivery coordination.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys client-facing collaboration and wants to develop into a well-rounded Product and Delivery Leader.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
Vision/Roadmap
· Define product vision and roadmap by collaborating with client stakeholders as well as internal engineering and experience teams.
· Guide client stakeholders in business, engineering, infrastructure, data, and product support with different points of view towards consensus, cut through any noise and drive towards identified business goals
· Lead requirements gathering working sessions in collaboration with experience designers and engineering teams to identify and define requirements towards product vision and roadmap, prioritize and negotiate scope agreement as required
· Create a product backlog that documents requirements in epics and user stories, ensure the product backlog is clear and concise
Development
· Lead an agile team consisting of software engineers, experience designers and quality assurance engineers
· Prioritize product feature backlog based on importance and dependencies, plan development of the product with a focus on maximizing value
· Support the team and refine user stories if needed so the engineering teams can create and implement the most effective technical solution
Release/Support
· Lead the planning of incremental product releases and set expectations for delivery of new functionality, negotiate agreement on a schedule
· Deliver products that provide measurable results towards the identified business goals
· Be the product expert and single contact for any product related questions, be able to communicate what the business needs, understand the why and convey the message to all stakeholders using technical language as required
· Provide clear and concise communication on the status of the implementation
· Raise issues and concerns internally and with the client and facilitate agreement to a path forward
Project Management Development
· Participate in gravity9’s Project Management Training Programme to gain hands-on experience in:
o Budgeting and financial tracking
o Project planning and milestone definition
o Risk management
· Delivery monitoring and reporting
· Apply these skills to manage smaller initiatives or workstreams, under the guidance of senior PMs.
· Support coordination between teams, ensuring timely and efficient delivery across multiple stakeholders.
· Contribute to documenting and improving delivery practices and templates.
Job requirements
Role requirements and experience
This role will suit a highly capable Product Owner with at least five years’ experience. Skills and experience must include:
· Ability to take a vision and break it down into smaller bodies of work
· In-depth knowledge and experience of Agile process and principles
· Software product delivery OR software engineering background
· Strong communication and negotiation skills
· Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to navigate different types of environments
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Attention to detail
· Late afternoon availability: Candidates must be available to work and respond to client communications during late afternoon hours, up to 7:00 PM Poland Time, several days a week, to effectively support and collaborate with US-based clients.
· Education: Degree in computer science or another STEM subject is preferred, either at MSc or BSc level, but alternative education paths will be considered
